Why ProfePreps

Why ProfePreps

You've probably typed a topic into an AI tool and gotten back something that technically works. Grammar's fine. Vocabulary's there. And it still doesn't feel like a lesson a language teacher would actually teach.

ProfePreps doesn't work by asking an AI "write me a Spanish lesson about food" and shipping whatever comes back. Every generator is built against real ACTFL Can-Do expectations, level by level: what does Novice Low actually look like versus Intermediate Mid, in an actual 45-minute class period, not in theory.

Building it has been iterative, not one-and-done. Ask the AI to build against specific ACTFL criteria. Read what comes back, really read it, not skim it. Flag exactly what's off, whether that's a lesson asking for the wrong level of task or a Can-Do statement that doesn't match the activity. Rewrite the instructions. Test again. Every so often another language teacher tries a lesson and points out something worth fixing too. Then the process keeps going.

That's the honest answer to "is this AI-generated." Yes, the AI writes the lesson. What it writes from, and what counts as done, came from someone who has actually taught the level those lessons are for.

What that means for you

  • Lessons are built against real ACTFL Can-Do expectations per level, not a generic "make it educational" prompt
  • The standards knowledge behind every generator came from real classroom experience, not a policy document read once
  • The process keeps getting refined as gaps show up, it isn't a tool that shipped once and stopped improving

Less prep. Better lessons. Built by someone who's actually stood in front of the classroom these lessons are for.
